Welcome to a world of worthless words, floating minds, some good music and blurred pictures.

A good way to waste your precious time.

It’s possible that libraries are gonna be obsolete in the following years. You can carry all your books effortlessly - using any PDF-reading tablet.

It’s just amazing to think that I can carry all my Harry Potter books, Sophie Kinsella, Dan Brown, Twilight series, classic novels, Bob Ong and works of other Filipino authors, reference books for studying, even magazines and comics - all in a single handheld device. This makes me appreciate the fast-pacing technology even more.

Imagine, all students won’t have the burden of carrying thick books, or lacking of reference books in the library. Not to mention the cost and hassle of photocopying. Whenever the need arises, all they have to do is to check their tablets. How cool is that? Maybe they could also jot down and save their notes there.

If one doesn’t have a book, he would just say “pa-bluetooth” instead of “pa-xerox”, in just a few seconds you have the copy of the whole book and not just a few pages! :D

Schools should include tablet PCs in their scholarship programs. Maybe lahat mag-aaral nang mabuti :D

However we can’t just toss around e-books since they’re copyrighted and publishers would obviously want us to purchase their books… Also it would kill the bookstore industry :D

Anyway, what I’m just trying to say is that tablets are cool and bookworms will surely love it ‘coz they can carry with them their bookshelves anytime, anywhere :D

It’s located in P. Noval St. Sampaloc, Manila! Beside Santorini! :) You’ll easily spot the small…

Some people are forced to be away from their families and loved ones to work abroad and earn. By being an OFW you practically commit all your time to work. Not literally, of course. But what you do with your time when you’re away is either to work, sleep or eat. Or mingle with complete strangers, except when you traveled with someone you know.

Some finalized their decision because what their neighbors would say matters to them.
“Yung anak ni Aling Nancy, seaman yun.” seems to be an ear candy, especially in the province. Mind you, in the province it’s REALLY a big deal. It seems like a cool thing that someone you know works abroad.

Sure enough, most OFWs make a lot of money. My uncle worked as a seaman for years, hadn’t he had an accident he would have worked a couple of years more. Today they live in a beautiful 3-storey house, drives a decent family car, owns apartments, their 2 kids already have savings for their future. My uncle got his retirement fund, my aunt still works as a teacher and my cousins are in elementary and college. All my uncle’s hardwork paid off.

But then, my other uncle didn’t work abroad but he made a lot of investments - apartments, cars, lots, and their big house. Now he’s planning a new business - a water station. All these came from nothing. You see, he came from a family that’s not wealthy (he’s my father’s brother). He started small. The point is that he did it without getting out of the country, without being away from his family.

My brother is a seaman, too. He just came home after 8 months (he has just started) and will stay here for a 2-month vacation. I just realized that from now on, my brother will spend about 2 months a year at home (soon when he gets promoted I think his vacation time would be shorter). Isn’t it an awful realization? I can feel that he is not happy with this fact either. After all, who gets happy being away from his family and friends for a long time? In his emails he always said “Gusto ko nang umuwi!!!” with all that exclamation points. In the first place, he took Marine Transportation, so what do we expect? Even so, it’s just sad.

During my college days I actually considered working abroad. I think it’s cool, living in Singapore for years, pursuing a successful professional career. But I had a change of mind when my father was hospitalized in 2009. I realized that life is short, and being away from my family to work is just hard. Today, I’m working in Makati and met more opportunities that solidified my decision of not working abroad.

I would still love to go to Singapore (and other places), but with my loved ones, for a vacation and certainly not for work.

All That You Are

Goo Goo Dolls

OST: Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon

And I feel
The faint morning light
Filled with hope
Cause you’re here in my life
And we’ve gone
From the edge of our souls
Made it back to a place we call home

You… See me through
I was alone in the dark and the fear was my truth

Yeah all the things that you are
Beautifully broken,
Alive in my heart
And know
That you are everything
Let your heart sing and tonight
We’ll light up the stars

All that you are

I feel wrong
I’m so human and flawed
I’ll break down even though I’m still strong
And time…will make fools of us all
Build us up and then laughs when we fall

You…pull me through
When I’m alone in the dark and the fear is my truth

Yeah all the things that you are
Beautifully broken,
Alive in my heart
And know
That you are everything
Let your heart sing and tonight
We’ll light up the stars

All that you are

Your the sound of redemption
The faith that I’ve lost the answers
I’m seeking no matter the cost
You opened the window now I can see
And you taught me forgiveness
By giving your love back to me

Yeah all the things that you are
Beautifully broken,
Alive in my heart
And know
That you are everything
Let your heart sing and tonight
We’ll light up the stars
All that you are

Yeah all the things that you are
Beautifully broken,
Alive in my heart
And know
That you are everything
Let your heart sing and tonight

Let your heart sing and tonight
We’ll light up the stars
All that you are

Oh, I feel.. all the faint morning light
Filled with hope cause you’re here in my life.

Riding the MRT brings out the inner malditaness in you.

Kanina lang on my way to work, bumaba ako sa Buendia station. Natural, siksikan. I have to battle my way out as usual, like other people do.

Si ate na nasa harap ko was making no signs na lalabas din pala sya. When I realized na bababa sya I stopped moving for her to move out first.

Know what happened?

She may have thought na sinisiksik ko sya coz she was making these “nasisiksik ako” move. Sobrang iritang-irita sya sa akin, she looked me straight into the eye while she was heading her way out.

As in tingin sya ng tingin sa akin nang masama until she climbed the stairs. Women around us are also looking at her, wondering why she was reacting like that when no one is pushing her.

Hinayaan ko munang maglaho sya sa paningin ko before I headed my way. I was kind of laughing while nasa escalator. Nakakatawa kasi yung itsura nya and nakakaasar at the same time.

…Para kasi siyang tanga. XD
